Programs & Services

Coaching & Lessons

Private and group lessons for all ages are offered, including our new Pony Pals program for preschoolers!

As a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and Equine Canada (EC) Licensed Certified Competition Coach for English and Western divisions, I strive to continuously update my knowledge in all aspects of the equine and coaching fields. This helps me stay current with industry expectations for both the arena and the showring.

Each student gets my best in every lesson. Safety for the rider and horse are my top priority. I customize my lessons to each student’s needs and interests while maintaining a standard of excellence.

As an EC Licensed Certified Competition Coach I am also able to teach and test students through Equine Canada’s “Learn To Ride” program. Completion of this program is an asset to students hoping to pursue a career in the equine industry, and provides the opportunity to become a Certified Coach themselves.

Equine Assisted Learning

Team building can be one of the biggest struggles in the interpersonal and corporate worlds.

How do you build trust and a strong team?
Communication!

In 2019, I became a Certified Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) Facilitator. I chose this certification because I wanted to introduce my horses to a wider range of people that would enjoy the benefits of being in the presence of these magnificent animals but whom didn’t necessarily want to learn to ride.

Even after decades in the horse industry – breeding, training, showing, chasing cows, gymkhana, coaching, and helping with therapeutic riding lessons as well as partnering with horses for my own therapeutic journey – I never truly understood how much I wasn’t listening to what my horses were trying to tell me before this training.

EAL is a program developed to challenge and strengthen many important life skills at any age. Often used to support children with exceptional needs, EAL also has applications for businesses, families, and adult individuals. Every EAL session is an opportunity for a deeply valuable experience that each participant can take back to improve their daily lives.

Tourism

Quigley Arabian Ranch (QAR) is primarily an Arabian horse farm, but we do have two miniature horses and a Quarter Horse gelding as our equine teachers as well.

QAR is an Arabian Discovery Farm which means we are all about promoting our breed as the versatile and family-friendly horse that they are. Our horses love to meet, teach, and help new friends learn about the Arabian breed and experience what life is like on the ranch.

QAR is a small ranch situated ten miles east of Gravelbourg in southwestern Saskatchewan. We only have horses, dogs, and a cat on the ranch whereas a true ranch would typically raise other livestock such as cattle or sheep. But we do much of the same work a true ranch does, just on a smaller scale!

Whether for a small group of school kids or a larger group of newcomers or visitors to the area, we offer tailored experiences packed with learning activities, horse handling and our delightful Ranch Olympics. Tours are available in French (my second language) and English language.

Special Events

One of the most important things in my mind when bringing people to meet my equine teachers is that they have TONS OF FUN while being safe, learning about horses and meeting new friends.

KIDS CAMPS – During the summer months, these half-day camps give children ages 6 to 11 a chance to work with horses on the ground, ride and do a horse-related craft or activity. These camps offer team building, communication and leadership activities, along with basic horsemanship and farm safety practices.

LADIES RETREATS – Bring your own horse to our riding season kick-off in early spring or attend our relaxed non-riding event later in the year. These retreats are women-centred and designed to give everyone in attendance the best possible time away from their daily routines. Fun activities break the ice with new friends until we’re all laughing so hard we need to sit down, filling our bodies with nutritious food to warm the soul, and of course spending quality time with the horses. Plus, what’s a better way to round out the day but a campfire with s’mores!

CUSTOM EVENTS – We offer half-day, full-day and overnight events with customizable activities and menus for most group sizes. Let us know how we can help bring your vision to life!

Judging

As a active judge, I am currently accepting engagements for 4-H, open and SHF Heritage circuit shows.

During my years growing up in the horse industry, I got to be involved in the local 4-H Club for 14 years. This nation-wide program has great benefit to all those who are involved with it. One of the goals of the 4-H community is to educate members about how to judge their animal’s condition for health, potential breeding purposes and for the showring. This is where I got my first taste for being at center ring, assessing the animals and participants around me.

I have judged open horse shows and 4-H shows over the last many years, and in 2018 I became a Provincial General Performance Judge under Saskatchewan Horse Federation. I am also a Provincial Trail judge and am currently working towards my Provincial Dressage judge card as well.

I am grateful for the privilege of working with grassroots equine communities to encourage participants in their love of horses and assist their desire to improve and succeed. There is always one at the top of the class, but everyone can learn something each time they enter and leave the ring a winner in their own right. I thrive on these opportunities to share my expertise constructively and getting to tell a young horseperson something I really liked about their time in the ring.
